Welcome to our detailed overview of the upcoming WP Adminify V4.0 update, scheduled for release in the first week of August. This blog post aims to provide a comprehensive explanation of the new features and improvements included in this update.
Our goal with this post is to help WordPress users, regardless of their experience level with our plugin, understand how these new customization options can transform their WordPress environment.
In the following sections, we’ll examine each update in detail. We’ll explain what each new feature does, how it works, and how you can use it to tailor your WordPress interface to your preferences and workflow needs. This information should help you prepare for the update and make the most of the new customization tools once they’re available.
We hope this breakdown will give you a clear picture of what to expect from the new WP Adminify V4.0 update and how it can help you create a more personalized and efficient WordPress experience.
For a long time, both the free and pro versions of WP Adminify shared the same codebase. While this approach had its benefits initially, it ultimately created a bottleneck for both versions. Here’s why separating them is a game-changer for you:
The issues with shared code:
Imagine building two houses (the free and pro versions) using the same set of blueprints.
While efficient at first, imagine if you wanted to renovate the free house (add a new feature). You’d have to modify the shared blueprint, which would also affect the pro house (potentially causing unintended changes).
This is what happened with the shared codebase. Updating one version often meant unintended consequences for the other, making development slow and cumbersome.
How separation has helped performance for both plugins:
By separating the free and pro versions into distinct plugins, we’ve essentially given them separate blueprints. Now, improvements to the free version can be made without affecting the pro version (and vice versa). This translates to several exciting benefits for you:
In essence, separating the free and pro versions is like giving each its own dedicated construction crew. This allows for faster development, improved performance, and a more tailored experience for both free and pro users.
We’ve been laser-focused on optimizing WP Adminifies performance, and the results are nothing short of remarkable. This update represents a significant leap forward, transforming WP Adminify into a truly powerful and efficient plugin.
With the update you can expect lightning-fast page loads, a leaner and meaner backend, and a smoother user experience for both you and your website visitors.
But how did we achieve this impressive feat? Let’s take a closer look at all the individual improvements.
Curently, page generation times hover around 0.67 seconds. This update will optimize rendering, bringing that time down to a mere 0.12 seconds – a remarkable 82% improvement. Users will see your content almost instantly, keeping them engaged and happy.
The WordPress dashboard alone consumes a significant amount of memory (up to 9.2MB). This strains resources and slows down overall performance. The update will tackle this by optimizing resource usage, reducing memory consumption to a lean 5.6MB – a significant 33% reduction. This will free up valuable resources for other essential tasks, ensuring a smoother website experience.
Every time your website displays information, it sends queries to the database. The sheer number of queries impact performance. Currently, the dashboard alone fires off a whopping 99 queries! This update will optimize database interactions, reducing the number of queries to a manageable 46 – an impressive 50% reduction. This will translate to a lighter load on your database, resulting in faster loading times and a more efficient website.
Scripts are like tiny programs that make your website interactive. However, an excessive number of scripts can slow down page loading. In the current version of WP Adminify, around 10 scripts need to be reloaded every time you reload your backend which isn’t much but we could do better! After the update, the number of scripts will come down to 3. This represents a remarkable 70% reduction. The result is a leaner, faster website that loads in a blink.
Stylesheets define the visual appearance of your website. While important, too many stylesheets can slow things down. Currently, your website might be loading a hefty 13 stylesheets because of WP Adminify! This update will ensure only 5 stylesheets are loaded, resulting in an outstanding 61% reduction. This translates to a faster initial page load and a smoother browsing experience.
One of our most liked features: The Dark mode has gotten an overhaul as well in this update! We’ve completely revamped the dark mode experience with a powerful new feature: Smart Dark Mode.
Simplifying Dark Mode: No More Code or Conflicts
Currently, achieving a consistent dark mode across your plugins often involves manual CSS code adjustments or checking compatibility for various plugins. This update eliminates those complexities entirely.
Effortless Dark Mode Experience
With Smart Dark Mode, you can finally enjoy a truly seamless dark mode environment:
How this helps you?
The new and improved Smart Dark Mode will empower you to:
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve finally resolved a longstanding issue with Adminify. For some time, our plugin’s styles and scripts were inadvertently affecting the default WordPress UI, even when the Adminify UI was disabled. This caused residual effects and potential conflicts with popular plugins like ACF, WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Elementor, WordFence, and Rankmath.
We want to sincerely apologize for the duration of this problem. We understand it has been a source of frustration for many of our users, and we appreciate your patience as we worked to find a solution.
With this update, when you disable Adminify’s UI, your WordPress dashboard will now return to its original state without any lingering effects from our plugin. This fix will ensure better compatibility with other plugins and restore full control over your admin experience.
As an additional improvement, we’ve introduced custom minimal icons for all default WordPress admin menu items.
We’re grateful for your ongoing support and feedback throughout this process. Your input has been crucial in helping us address this issue and improve Adminify. We remain committed to enhancing our plugin and providing you with the best possible WordPress customization experience.
We’re constantly striving to improve your experience with WP Adminify, and a key part of that is listening to your feedback. Based on user surveys and requests, we’re excited to announce a significant update: the separation of several WP Adminify modules into dedicated plugins!
Many of WP Adminify’s modules offer powerful functionalities that stand on their own. Take the Login Customizer (now Loginfy) or Admin Columns (now Admin Column Editor) for example. Our research revealed that a significant portion of users expressed a desire to utilize these features independently, without requiring the full WP Adminify suite.
By separating these modules, we’re empowering you to choose the functionalities that best suit your needs. This means you can enjoy the benefits of specific features like Loginfy’s login page customization or Admin Column Editor’s improved admin view, all without installing the entire WP Adminify plugin.
