Redirect Archive Pages to Homepage
Sometimes, you may want to clean up your WordPress site by redirecting unused or irrelevant archive pages (such as author, category, tag archives, etc.) to the homepage. WP Adminify’s Post & Archives feature makes this process simple, allowing you to choose which archive pages to redirect. Here’s how to use WP Adminify to redirect different archive pages to the homepage.
1. Access the Post & Archives Feature in WP Adminify
To get started, log in to your WordPress dashboard:
- Navigate to WP Adminify > Security > Post & Archives.
2. Enable the Post & Archives Feature
Make sure the Post & Archives feature is activated:
- Toggle the switch to Show (it should turn green).
- Once enabled, several options for managing archives and post templates will appear.
3. Select the Archive Pages to Redirect
Scroll down to the options for archive page redirection. WP Adminify offers the following archive pages that you can redirect to the homepage:
- Redirect "Date Archives" Template to Homepage
- Redirect "Author Archives" Template to Homepage
- Redirect "Tag Archives" Template to Homepage
- Redirect "Category Archives" Template to Homepage
- Redirect "Post Format Archives" Template to Homepage
- Redirect "Search Template" to Homepage
Check the box next to each archive type you want to redirect to the homepage. You can select one or multiple options depending on your needs.
4. Save Your Changes
Once you’ve selected the archive pages you want to redirect:
- Scroll down and click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page to apply the settings.
5. Verify the Redirect
After saving your changes, visit the archive pages you selected (e.g., author archive, tag archive) and ensure they are now being redirected to your site’s homepage.
