How to Create Custom Gravatar Images for Users

By default, WordPress uses Gravatar for user avatars in the comment section. However, WP Adminify’s Custom Gravatar Images feature allows you to upload your own custom avatars, giving you more control over the appearance of user avatars on your site. Here’s how you can create and assign custom Gravatar images using WP Adminify.

1. Access the Custom Gravatar Images Feature in WP Adminify

First, log in to your WordPress dashboard:

  • Navigate to WP Adminify > Security > Custom Gravatar Images.

2. Enable the Custom Gravatar Images Feature

Ensure the Custom Gravatar Images feature is activated:

  • Toggle the switch to Yes (it should turn green).
  • Once activated, you will see the option to upload custom avatar images.

3. Upload a Custom Avatar Image

To upload a new Gravatar image:

  • Click the Upload button next to the Image field.
  • Select the avatar image you want to upload from your local device.
  • After uploading, enter a name for the avatar in the Name field (e.g., "Custom Avatar 1").

4. Save Your Custom Gravatar

Once you've uploaded your custom avatar and named it:

  • Click the Save Changes button to confirm and apply your settings.

5. Select Your Custom Avatar from Discussion Settings

After saving, you need to apply the custom Gravatar to comments:

  • Navigate to Settings > Discussion.
  • Under the Default Avatar section, select your custom Gravatar image from the list of available avatars.

6. Verify Your Custom Avatar in Comments

Once selected, your custom Gravatar will appear as the default avatar for users who do not have their own Gravatar:

  • Visit a post or page with a comment section to confirm the custom avatar is displayed.
