Disable Embeds
WordPress automatically allows embedding of external content like YouTube videos, Tweets, and other media using the oEmbed feature. However, if you want to disable this functionality for performance improvements or security reasons, WP Adminify’s Disable Embeds feature offers a complete solution. This will disable all embeds across your site, including the REST API, Head Tag, TinyMCE editor, and remote results. Here’s how you can disable the embeds functionality using WP Adminify.
1. Access the Performance Section in WP Adminify
To begin, log in to your WordPress dashboard:
- Navigate to WP Adminify > Performance > Disable Embeds.
2. Enable the "Disable Embeds" Feature
Ensure the Disable Embeds feature is activated:
- Toggle the switch to Yes (it should turn green).
- Once enabled, this option will disable all embeds functionality across your WordPress site, including REST API embeds, the embed code in the Head tag, TinyMCE editor embeds, and remote results.
3. Save Your Changes
After enabling the Disable Embeds feature:
- Scroll down and click the Save Changes button to apply the new settings.
4. Verify the Embeds Functionality is Disabled
Once you’ve saved the changes, check your website to verify that all embeds (such as YouTube, Twitter, and other oEmbed integrations) are no longer functional:
- Visit a post or page where you previously had embedded content to ensure the embeds no longer load.
