How to duplicate any post type?

WP Adminify’s Post Duplicator feature lets you quickly duplicate any post type in WordPress, including standard posts, pages, and custom post types. This is helpful for creating similar posts or pages without manually recreating content, settings, and metadata.

Follow these steps to duplicate any post type using the Post Duplicator feature.

1. Enable the Post Duplicator Feature

First, ensure the Post Duplicator feature is enabled in WP Adminify:

  • Go to WP Adminify > Productivity > Post Duplicator.
  • Toggle the setting to Enable if it isn’t already active.
  • Select the post type you want to enable Post Duplicator for. This is a dynamic feature. You’ll find all the post types registered on your site as options here.

2. Navigate to the Post Type List

Once the Post Duplicator is active and you’ve selected the post types you want it enabled for:

  • Go to Posts, Pages, or any Custom Post Type section in your WordPress dashboard.
  • You will see a list of all posts or pages in that specific post type.

3. Select the Post You Want to Duplicate

From the list of posts, find the one you want to duplicate:

  • You’ll find an Adminify Clone option in the post settings..
  • Click the Adminify Clone option and the post or page will be duplicated.
  • WP Adminify will create a new draft that is an exact replica of the original post, including its content, metadata, featured images, and any custom fields.

4. Edit the Duplicated Post (Optional)

Once duplicated:

  • You can now modify the title, content, or any other part of the post as needed.

For example, if you're duplicating a blog post, you might want to change the post's title and some content, but the structure and settings will already be in place.

5. Publish the Duplicated Post

After making any necessary edits:

  • Click the Publish button to make the duplicated post live, or save it as a draft for future editing.

Supported Post Types

The Post Duplicator feature works for a wide range of post types, including:

  • Posts: Standard blog posts.
  • Pages: Static pages in WordPress.
  • Custom Post Types: Any custom post type registered by themes or plugins, such as products (WooCommerce), portfolio items, or events.
